Trash Scavengers

As you may already be aware, due to competing priorities personnel and resources are very limited and focused on crime solving strategies and missions to reduce Part-I crime (Rape, Robbery, Burglary, Grand Theft Auto, Burglary/Theft from Motor Vehicle).

If you observe theft from recycling bins occurring, I do not recommend confronting the individuals. You may report this activity to the Non-Emergency Dispatch at 1-877-275-5273. Be prepared to provide the suspect and vehicle descriptions and direction of travel. Patrol units will be dispatched to respond based on priority and availability.

As a preventative measure, I HIGHLY suggest not placing the bins outside until the scheduled day of pick-up. We are aware that this activity is a city-wide issue and recommend taking measures to prevent and reduce the opportunity for recyclables to removed from the bins. Ensure all papers or documents containing personal information are shredded to prevent identity theft.

Should you have any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.

WLA Cadet Program

WLA YOUTH PROGRAMS NEED YOU!!!  The Los Angeles Police Department and your local West Los Angeles Community Police Station have developed an exciting array of youth programs that are enriching the lives of local area children.  The youth programs consist of the Police Activity League (PAL), the Deputy Auxiliary Police (DAP), and the Cadet Program.  These programs provide the youth of our community, ranging in ages from 7-20, with a path away from gangs and towards success.  The programs provide training that instill discipline, promote leadership, and enhance academic achievement in all of its members.  The West Los Angeles Community Police Station Youth Programs help transform the children of today into the leaders of tomorrow.  If you are interested in joining our program and putting your child on the path towards success, come to the West Los Angeles Community Police Station located at 1663 Butler Avenue, Los Angeles, California, 90025, and pick up an application today.  For more information about the youth programs, or to find out how you can assist these outstanding programs financially, please contact Police Officer Timothy Hope, at (310) 444-0748, or by email at [email protected].

C-PAB Holiday Dinner Plans

Dear C-PAB Members, Friends and Community Leaders,
The December C-PAB Annual Holiday Dinner is scheduled for Monday December 19th at 7:00pm at the Shaherzad Restaurant, 1422 Westwood Boulevard, Westwood, Ca. 90024 (310) 470-3242. Thanks to Adel we have a place and a lot of delicious food for $35.00 per person. In order to maintain this price per person we need a minimum of 25 persons not including the officers. You can bring your favorite wine with no corkage charge. Everyone is welcome. You can bring your wife, significant other, colleague or friend but I do need to know when your send in your RSVP.   Some of you have already sent your rsvp’s and for those of you who haven’t please do so ASAP. Hopefully we can meet their minimum of 25. For those of you who find the $35.00 out of your budget please let me know so I can accommodate you and you can join us.

Please get back to me ASAP!!!!!

This has always been quite an event. It’s not often we can break bread with our LAPD officers and community members all in the same room.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

Best regards,
