Police And Community Together (P.A.C.T.) and it’s contribution to WLAPD

Dear C-PAB Members and Community Leaders.

I am sending you the following link to you: http://www.lapdpact.com to encourage you to contribute to Police And Community Together (P.A.C.T.) You can make a tax-deductible contributions to PACT through their website.

The critical mission of PACT to increase revenue, as the needs of WLA Station continue to grow. As you heard from Matthew S. Rodman at our last meeting how much your contribution is badly needed. Everyday items to maintain the offices and mission of the station are actually purchased with contributions made to P.A.C.T. and not from City funds.

PACT plays a critical role in maintaing the role our station has “To Protect and Serve” our Community. I don’t have to tell how well our Station does in meeting their role in protecting us, as crime in our geographical area is at record lows. I encourage you to seek out businesses, individuals and groups to contribute as well and pass on this link http://www.lapdpact.com on to them. The station still has many needs and anything you can contribute will be deeply appreciated.

If you have futher questions or want to participate in P.A.C.T.  please feel free to contact Matthew S. Rodman or Christina Chan at  (310) 444-0713  or [email protected].

Best regards,

Community-Police Advisory Boards Celebrate 20 Years

Police-badge

In 1993, the Los Angeles Police Department established the first official police-community relationship in the City of Los Angeles called Community-Police Advisory Boards.

Twenty years later, there are 21 community policing stations in Los Angeles, each with a Community-Police Advisory Board (C-PAB) made up of volunteers who live and work in the neighborhoods they represent. C-PABs are the voice of their communities on policing matters. They play a critical role in problem-solving and awareness-raising within our neighborhoods on a daily basis.

Today, public safety in our City rests on the cooperation between the LAPD and the communities they serve. On Saturday, the LAPD will celebrate this important anniversary with city officials including Mayor Garcetti, Commissioners Steve Soboroff and Paula Madison, and LAPD Police Chief Beck. The summit will focus on community policing efforts, gang intervention and prevention, youth programs, and citywide public safety issues.
